About Me

I was born in the North Carolina piedmont and raised on the coast, in the Southport/Oak Island area. Over a few decades I’ve migrated west – first to Duke University for undergrad, then Charlotte for work after college, then Vanderbilt for business school, and finally Texas (this is as far west as this North Carolinian will go!). I got an undergrad in engineering, but later found my way into an MBA in marketing – and those that know me say this is a much better fit. I agree! But am proud of both my diplomas.

I got my start in B2B high tech marketing at Sun Microsystems – and then the tech bubble burst and layoffs ensued. Fisher Marketing Services was founded in 2002 via the typical ‘get laid off and then get hired by your former employer as a consultant’ scenario – one of the only times I have enjoyed being a bit of a cliche’.  I’ve been very blessed to have worked with former friends and colleagues, as well as new clients, since then.
